Maximillian Shreck is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Penguin) of the 1992 Tim Burton film Batman Returns. He was Bruce Wayne's rival, Selina Kyle's abusive former boss and arch-nemesis and a former ally to the Penguin.
He was played by Christopher Walken.
Biography[]
The businessman Max is well loved by the town and his son Chip, but nobody (except Selina, Bruce and Penguin) really knows his horrible true personality and dark secrets which range from killing his best friend and flushing his body parts down the toilet, dumping toxic waste in the Gotham River, owning secret fire traps within Gotham City, trying to murder Selina Kyle, and murdering his own wife.
Max appears to be giving and caring when he's actually aggressive and a big bully. Max wants to build a large power plant which he says will be good for the city when really it would eventually suck the power dry from Gotham, leaving a fortune of money in his legacy. But he ends up getting blackmailed by the Penguin (then later left) and Catwoman (Selina) constantly trying to kill him. He's killed in the end when Catwoman shoves an electric plug into his mouth, frying him and leaving a frazzled corpse behind. Meaning that he eventually lost everything.
